Water Filter Kit

My kids enjoyed doing this and I always like when there is purpose and learning behind playing.Everything you need is included with the exception of dirt and a cup. If you plan to do any other experiments, you’ll need those items too.The instructions are a little lacking I think. I’m still not 100% sure we did it as intended.I like that this is somewhat reusable, but not something I’ll have to hold onto forever.

I got this kit for my 10-year old son, but unfortunately it didn’t work very well. The instructions weren’t very helpful. It just showed an image with some brief text. It didn't say how much sand to put in. It had a mention of cutting up the large filter for the third cup, which was confusing. It had smaller filters but they were too big to fit in the cups. We put dirty water in the top as it said and the water at the bottom was still dirty, albeit a little lighter. My son quickly lost interest, especially when it didn't work. There was no learning experience, just disappointment. Overall, I would not recommend this kit.

My son used this for an 8th grade science fair project. It worked well and we all learned a few things about our nasty water.

This Pinwheel Crafts DIY Water Filter Kit includes all the necessary supplies and some kinda weak instructions.The idea is to build a water filtration system using sand and pebbles.The main issue was the smaller filters didn't fit into the containers well, so you had to kind of force them down....but you could create a functional water filtering system if you were careful.But note the kit only gives you three filters, and they get blocked up with sand after one or two uses.A great idea, and still fun and educational, but the manufacturer got a lil cheap with the parts for the kit...four stars.

I got this as a gift for my sister-in-law who just became a kindergarten teacher. She absolutely loved it and so did her kiddos! I love to see engaging science kits for kids on the market. In a world of mindless media, these kind of things are refreshing. Great product!

We are big fans of our Big Berkey, and our daughter was asking how it worked. We explained it to her, but when I saw this kit, I knew this would be perfect because it would make the explanation visible. This kid comes with everything you need to do this project. It is not time consuming (unless the kids REALLY get into it). It is great to explain how to filter water. This could easily be an introduction into the subject, and then turn into a project where the kids create a filtration system for their home using other tools. I highly recommend this product!

I did this with my grandsons ages 3 and 7. They were very interested in how it worked and were amazed by it. I was grateful that I have a science background and knew how filtering works because the instructions aren't very clear. For the price this costs, I expected more clarity, but we still had fun.

This is a cool experiment for the kids to do for a weekend. We did ours with muddy creek water and it came out clear. The kids loved it!

This is a good kit to get one, maybe two kids going with if you were going to show a water filtration experiment. It includes everything you need, but its a bit sparse on the instructions, so if you're not sure of what you're doing, look up YouTube videos about making "survival" or "homemade" water filters.

This is a great little kit to teach about water filtration. It comes with everything but the dirt and water. It even has a chart for kids to record their observations. It has two different experiments for children to do. One is for cleaning dirty water, the other is for water that can not be filtered. It is very easy to use for small children. My son is five and setting this up and using it was so easy.

This kit is fun and educational. This would make a great gift for STEM lovers and those learning about water related topics. Easy to use while learning at the same time.

This was a really fun experiment for my elementary aged homeschooler. He really enjoyed doing this. He is in 1st grade and this was easy for him to understand. We both recommend this set!

This water filtration kit comes with everything you need. Instructions are clear and well written. An observation sheet is included.Fun. Simple. Straightforward. Enjoyable.Older children should be able to manage this kit on their own.

The Pinwheel Crafts Water Filter Kit comes with supplies and instructions. It includes a water dropper but there weren’t any instructions which included it’s use. The grand kids had fun filling it up with the sandy water and squirting it out again. There was also a large filter that we didn’t use.The small filters were difficult to get to fit into the containers. In order for them to filter properly you have to push them all the way down. The image on the box shows funnel shaped filters that fit into the containers. Those would have been so much better. The kit only includes three filters and they become clogged with the sand so you can’t really use them more than once.Sand is included with the kit but didn’t really mix well into the water. There were also a few pebbles but no instructions as to what to do with them. We added them to the sand and poured them into the system.The grand kids were interested and we could see the filtration process as the bottom container was less dirty than the top one. They wanted to try it a second time but the filters were so clogged by the sand that the water quit going through them. Although they had fun and learned a little, I don’t feel the value of the kit is worth the price. It would be better if more filters were included so the suggestions for using other materials could be implemented.

This is a perfect homeschool science lesson and the kids all loved it and was engaged

We got this to do with my grandsons.It arrives in a box, ready to use.It comes with directions that are clear and easy to use.It seems to be made well.Everything works together to create the purify system.We love that they will know how to clean their water if they were ever in an emergency situation.We would buy this again.

I would order this again, it was the perfect science project to go along with the recycling theme for children. Wish it had more to it but it was worth the engagement
