What Your Child Makes

Why These Two Go Together

Neither kit asks for a skill she does not have yet. The unicorn pillow needs no sewing at all, just knotting, peeling and sticking, and the fairy jar is assembly and decoration with the glue and brush included. What they teach is different, though. The pillow is about working with fabric and repetition, twenty fleece tassels in a row. The jar is about small, careful placement: silhouettes, glitter, ribbon, a butterfly clip. One rewards persistence, the other rewards patience.
