Some skeins are wrapped interestingly, so they tangle very easily and need to be re-wrapped.- comes with a great clip to attach the starting end. It has a good grip if you put it on the knot or after. It will slide off if it doesn't have anything to keep it on and you pull tight.- most of the bracelets pictured on the box do not have patterns in the booklet which was very frustrating- some of the instructions don’t match their pictures in the patterns list. It seems like they forgot whole sections of steps.- not enough beads provided to finish an entire bracelet, not at all like the large quantity shown in the pictures- written instructions have missing words and can sometimes be a bit hard to figure out. The pictures are more helpful.

This awesome friendship bracelet making kit comes in a pretty purple box. This would make a great gift for a preteen/teenage girl/college student, or for anyone who likes crafts. You could also keep it and make gifts for others. There's an instruction booklet with various patterns. There's so much floss and such a great assortment of colors I was really impressed! If you have any left over floss you could use it for embroidery/cross stitch, as I like to add words to personalize mine and add my initials like an artist would on a painting. There's also 2 packs of beads, 1 silver and the other colorful plastic. A white clip is included which holds the threads while you braid and create the bracelet. I have nothing bad to say as this is awesome and I'd highly recommend that you get it!

I ordered this kit because it gives you A LOT of thread! Great value for both advanced crafter who want to spin lots of of products AND for complete beginners who need extra cord for all the oopsies. The booklet is ideal for beginners because it shoes the basic knots and a handful of ideas. Not too overwhelming for kids to learn and choose their style. The rest of the kit is super basic. A few beads and a clip to hold your project to the booklet while you work.

Kids may need some help at first, depending on their age and their experience with tying knots. Once they know how to do the knots required for a bracelet, it's pretty simple to make a bracelet, the simplest of which only requires one type of knot (aside from the starting knot).The instructions are both written and illustrated. Personally I have a hard time understanding instructions from illustrations, so I had a little trouble with certain things the written instructions don't completely clarify. For example, it describes the first type of knot as taking one string and putting it over, then under, the adjacent string and then pulling. The illustration very clearly shows you're meant to make a loop, so I think the fact that I somehow didn't comprehend that is my own issue. (I was basically braiding them instead of knotting them! Eventually I looked up a tutorial so I could see it in motion, and then I understood what I was doing wrong.)The floss it comes with is surprisingly sturdy. I had a fair amount of trial and error in making my first bracelet, including times there I had to untie knots I had done, and the floss barely frayed at all. The ruler on the box and the braid clip it comes with are really nice touches, too. I stood the box up (sideways, so that it was taller than it was long) and clipped the top of the bracelet onto it, making it easy to arrange the string and tie the knots. And the book comes with lots of great ideas for different bracelet types so that kids get a sense for the various options they can choose from for how to make their bracelets.

It is simple, consisting only of 100 skeins of embroidery floss, a plastic clip to attach your bracelet to something solid as you make it, an excellent graphic book of 20 designs & a few decorative elements (beads) to include in some of the bracelets. It comes in a nicely decorated, giftable box but you likely will need a larger container to store the parts once it's open.Many Friendship Bracelet kits include a plastic loom or tray of some sort to hold the bracelet as you work & frankly, the directions can become complicated. This kit does NOT. Instead, the instruction booklet instructs you how to tie the correct knot to start the bracelet; you attach that knot to the plastic clip and then just pull it taut to work.The best part of this set (beyond the fact that at current pricing, each skein of embroidery floss is only $0.20) is the detailed instruction book. It is detailed and explains how to make each design well. In fact, these bracelets are a combination of knots using macrame techniques.This set would be great for kids about 8+. Sometimes simplicity is best. Highly recommend!

Comes with enough to make everything you need to make all the bracelets in the book. Plus lots of extra floss. Nice deal for this kit. I think that kids starting at 8 or 9 could easily do these.

This is a beautiful kit. Wonderful introduction. It comes with thread. I may be dating myself, but I learned my first knots from a little ball from the quarter machine at a movie theater. It came with enough thread to make a bracelet to fit my little arm and instructions on how to tie it. This kit more than meets my expectations.This kit is perfect for beginners. It has instructions to follow so many styles of bracelet knots.It's a great gift for a child. It will keep them hours for busy. It even comes with beads to accessorize. Fun for everyone. This is a perfect starter kit for kids for making friendship bracelets, because it includes a lot of floss and very good colorful instructions. It includes a variety of beads for starters but we purchased additional types of beads, including letter beads, for further personalization and fun!

This comes with an amazing array of floss colors, a couple small baggies of beads, a clip to hold your bracelet as you work, and the instruction book to start tying knotted friendship bracelets. The instructions are fairly easy to understand and there were many patterns to choose from, a bunch of which I hadn't seen before. A great giftable item at around $20.

This little kit is great. There are so many different options for making bracelets and the directions are easy to understand. The thread colors are lovely, and tying the knots is a lot of fun. I bought this for my teenage granddaughter, and she wanted me to make one with her. It was like going back to my childhood. They are a lot of fun.

When I was a little kid I made lots of bracelets and ankle bracelets from embroidery thread like these! I have never seen such a big collection of threads except for when at the craft store, as this came with so many colors! There are plenty of colors to choose from and should accommodate everyone! The instruction book walks you through a whole bunch of different patterns and it rates each one on level of difficulty which is nice too so you know what you’re getting yourself into. I do wish the clips were made differently because they don’t clip to a surface and the strings, so I had to improvise and use Bobby pins to hold them to something else. There aren’t too many great ways to secure the strings to anything well enough so I can’t blame the company too much. Overall I think it’s worth it.
