Daring Dino Crochet Kit

They did several things that make this easier for beginners. The yarn is not typical yarn. It is more like a smooth cord which means that little hairs from the yarn don't get caught if you have to undo your stitches and you cannot separate the yarn fibers with your crochet hook like you would with the traditional yarn. The crochet hooks have padded handles. However the little clips are so flimsy though that they are nearly useless. They break way too easily. I debated taking off a star for this, but they are such a smalll part of the set that I didn't. The directions are good but I have to say they're awfully small. I would appreciate it having them a little larger. I have not crocheted for years, but I have crocheted, so it was more of a refresher than a beginner type thing for me. When there was something new to figure it out from their directions, they worked well. You can see mine is not quite finished, but I have done enough to know that the directions work. I did not use the video. I imagine that that would be quite helpful as well and would recommend that to a person who is just beginning to crochet. The bag it comes in is a nice sturdy ziploc type, which is a bonus for keeping things in as you are working.

This is a project for anyone! It comes with directions, both written out in patterns and online. The online directions appear to not have sound, just subtitles which would be annoying if I needed to rely on them. Luckily for me, I have completed a few amigurumi and didn’t need the video tutorials. The quality of the yarn is goo, it’s the smooth kind that doesn’t fray if you have to undo stitches.I’s a cute little Dino and a great “tester” piece to see if you’re interested in trying more complicated and more expensive kits.

My daughter just got into crochet and wants to try all kinds of patterns and items. This was ordered to give her a break from making the typical blankets, etc. She liked the design and all the materials that were included with the kit. She has done other kits like this but stated that the instructions were not as clear as she had hoped for. With a little studying she was able to figure it out and get going on making the item. I am not sure if it was the wording, or just technique from other patterns and making blankets that had her stumped for a minute. She said it was a fun kit to do and value for what you get was really nice.

I loved doing this little project. My toddler is currently obsessed with anything Dinosaur do she was over the moon with this when I was finished with it. I did run into one issue of the QR code not pulling up the tutorial but that was resolved SUPER quickly by the company.

My wife did not like that the first few knots were already tied. She wanted to do them all herself. I appreciated having something to look at as an example of how to do it correctly. I don't think I would have ever started without those first few out of the way. Our 11 year old has taken it over and we are now looking for other kits to try together.
